ENHANCING GEOGRAPHICAL STEWARDSHIP FOR SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

The Geographical Association of Tanzania (GAT), in collaboration with Ruaha Catholic University (RUCU), cordially invite different institutions, individual professionals, researchers and academics to the Third International Scientific Conference that will take place at Ruaha Catholic University in Iringa, Southern Highlands of Tanzania. Iringa is located 500 km from Dar es Salaam, 250 km from Dodoma, 300 km from Mbeya, and 130 km from Ruaha National Park.

The Conference will be held on 10th -11th August, 2018.

Abstracts and full papers are invited from Africa and beyond to write and submit on the theme and the following subthemes:

  1. Industrialisation, transport, communication, and social transformation
  2. Geography teaching/learning & research processes for professional development
  3. Energy and mineral resources development & the environment
  4. Agricultural practices and rural development interventions & environmental refugees
  5. Conservation and management of natural resources
  6. Waste management and pollution control
  7. Conflicts and environmental disaster management
  8. Population dynamics, environment, culture and development

The Organizing Committee calls for abstracts that do not exceed 200 words; the full paper should not exceed 8000 words. The submission should be in a word format, 12 point Times New Roman font. The submission of full papers should be done no later than 30th June, 2018. Postgraduate students are highly encouraged.
