The scholarships are offered as part of a new programme, Governance and Planning for Resilient Cities in Sub-Saharan Africa. PhD research undertaken in this programme should address problems and possible solutions for African cities to better cope with current and future challenges related to climate change and rapid urbanization.
The programme was started within the framework of a long-standing partnership between the Faculty of Spatial Planning at TU Dortmund University (Germany) and the School of Spatial Planning and Social Sciences at Ardhi University (Tanzania). Students admitted to the PhD programme at Ardhi University may, under certain conditions, pursue a degree that is awarded jointly by both universities.
The call is open for candidates from sub-Saharan Africa who are currently staff members of a public or private university, or are considered for a teaching or research staff recruitment.
The deadline for applications is February 18, 2018.
