Urban design position available at University of Botswana

The University of Botswana invites applications for the position of lecturer or senior lecturer in urban design, within the Department of Architecture and Planning.

Duties

The successful candidates will (i) teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Urban and Regional Planning. (ii) Teach design courses (iii) Carry out research in the fields of Design, Urban and Regional Planning (iv) carry out any other responsibilities as and when assigned by the Head of Department and; (v) for a Senior Lecturer position, provide academic leadership.

Requirements

**Lecturer **candidates must possess (i) a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning or cognate field with at least a 2(1) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (ii) a master’s degree in urban design; (iii) evidence of engagement in research and service. A PhD in urban design will be an added advantage.

Senior Lecturer candidates must possess (i) a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning or cognate field with at least a 2(1) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (ii) a master’s degree in urban design; (iii) a good and sustained record of research and publications with at least** six (6)** pieces of which **four (4)** should be from peer-reviewed journal articles; lead and/or single author in at least **two (2)** refereed journal articles or book chapters; (iv) evidence of engagement in service; (v) be eligible for registration with a professional body. A PhD in urban and regional planning or a cognate subject, experience in teaching, and evidence of professional practice will be added advantages.
