The School of Architecture, Planning and Housing at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (Durban, South Africa), in association with the KwaZulu-Natal Institute for Architecture, will host a conference themed ‘2010 and Beyond: Architecture & The City’. The conference will take place from 14 to 16 October 2010 in Durban, South Africa.
The call for papers (downloadable by clicking here) states the following:
‘2010 and Beyond’ is an conference designed to bring together theorists, educators, practitioners and students within the built environment fields to creatively review the 2010 juncture and to consider the future in practice and education post 2010. The scope is necessarily wide in the anticipation that a vigorous debate will result and that constructive proposals for the future will vitalise both education and practice. Themes include: Architecture, Education, The City, Planning & Housing.
Papers are invited for consideration from individuals or groups interested in furthering the debate regarding 2010 and the future. Initial submissions should take the form of a maximum 150 word abstract outlining the focus and intention of the paper. The full paper, to be submitted at a later date to be advised, should be in the form of a 20 minute presentation at the conference. Specific topics for debate are also welcomed, and on acceptance, will be factored into the programme.
