UN-Habitat has produced a set of guidelines on urban safety in Latin America. Now, a start has been made on producing a similar set of guidelines for Africa.
The African Centre of Cities at the University of Cape Town has been asked to find out via the AAPS network whether there are any existing case studies on urban safety initiatives in African cities.
We would be very grateful for any information you can supply about case studies of initiatives to promote urban safety (e.g. safer cities programmes).
Specifically, we would appreciate information such as: name of city, name of initiative, start date, contact person, web address, etc.
