The website of the fourth World Planning Schools Congress (WPSC), scheduled for 3 to 8 July 2016, is now up and running.
The Global Planning Education Association Network (GPEAN), together with its associational members, organizes a World Planning School Congress every five years. The fourth World Planning Schools Congress will be held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in July 2016, with the theme ‘Global Crisis: Planning and Challenges to Spatial Justice’. This international gathering of city and regional planning educators and scholars will be organized by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro’s Instituto de Pesquisa e Planejamento Urbano e Regional (IPPUR/UFRJ) and follows previous events held in Shanghai (2001), Mexico City (2006), and Perth (2011).
Key dates related to WPSC 2016 include the following:
- Call for extended abstracts: until October 2015
- Final date for submission of abstracts: 5 October 2015
- Evaluation by the co-chairs: October to November 2015
- Communication of acceptance: after 27 November 2015
- Start of registration: December 2015
- Early bird registration deadline: January 2016
- Evaluation of complete papers (for those who need it for funding their participation): until 4 March 2016
