Habitat III is the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, to take place in Quito, Ecuador, from 17 to 20 October, 2016. The UN’s Second Committee recently released its draft resolution on the procedures and rules to be followed in Habitat III.
The resolution reaffirms Habitat III’s emerging emphasis on the important role that sustainable urbanization, human settlements and local authorities can play as a key driver of sustainable development in their national and subnational development plans.
