Postdoctoral fellowship available: Consuming Urban Poverty project

We are delighted to invite applications for an one-year postdoctoral fellowship within the Consuming Urban Poverty project, hosted by the University of Cape Town.

The successful candidate will be based at the African Centre for Cities at the University of Cape Town. The postdoctoral research fellow will assist with analysis and publication of survey results on urban food insecurity from the three case study cities (Kitwe, Kisumu and Epworth).

The ideal candidate will have expertise in urban studies debates as they relate to inequality and poverty in Africa as well as an understanding of the literature and debates on urban food insecurity in the global South. A record of published work in these areas will advantageous.

The fellow will work under the supervision of Dr Jane Battersby and Professor Vanessa Watson.
