The first global State of the Land Debate report was launched on 11 May 2016 with the title: Strengthening Land Governance: Lessons from Implementing the Voluntary Guidelines.
The report, with contributions from all stakeholder groups including key multilaterals, is a substantive overview of what works and what doesn’t at the international and national levels.
The report reviews progress made in the four years since the Voluntary Guidelines were adopted, and makes recommendations on next steps, including a call by businesses to governments to show more political will to drive transformation and implementation.
