The Urban Affairs Association has called for participants in its 47th Annual Conference, to be held in Minneapolis (USA) from 19 to 22 April 2017.
The Urban Affairs Association (UAA) is a leading professional organization for urban researchers, policy analysts and advocates. UAA community members are engaged in understanding urban issues and looking for feasible policy solutions from a multidisciplinary perspective. For more than 45 years, the UAA has brought together social scientists, planners, policy analysts/advocates, and others to exchange insights and experiences regarding the most important urban issues of our time. The conference attracts 700 to 900 persons each year from the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia, Latin America and other parts of the world.
The UAA welcomes abstract/proposal submissions examining a wide array of topics that explore urban places, policies, and populations.

A proposal can be submitted through the UAA website for a:
- Research paper presentation (proposal requires an abstract) OR
- Pre-organized panel (proposal requires a panel summary, group of 4-5 paper abstracts/ moderator) OR
- Pre-organized colloquy (proposal requires theme statement & names of 4-5 formal discussants) OR
- Breakfast roundtable (proposal requires theme statement & names of 1-2 conveners) OR
- Poster (proposal requires an abstract) — the best option for persons who are in the early stages of their research.
Abstract/Proposal Deadline: UAA will not accept any proposals (of any kind) after 1 October 2016 (5:00am GMT). Acceptance or rejection notices will be sent by 30 November 2016.
