Training opportunity in applied land governance

The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and Lantmäteriet invite applications for the Advanced International Training Programme (ITP) on Applied Land Governance.

The training programme focuses on land related issues to develop trusted public administration with a clear mandate to enhance impartial, transparent and reliable services to society.

The main purpose of the programme is to strengthen the capacity of public institutions in the area of land management, particularly concerning the ability to effectively deliver services that would enhance people’s, and in particular women’s, land rights in a participatory and transparent manner.

The programme also seeks to develop competence of participating strategic individuals to carry out necessary reforms and organisational changes in the public land administration authorities.

ITP is structured to create an environment for cooperation and partnership between different stakeholders with the aim of contributing to wider societal change processes in the participating countries.

The scheduled programmes will be held from 10 to 30 September 2017 in Gävle, Sweden, and from 4 to 11 March 2018 in one of the participating countries.

The deadline for applications is 3 April 2017.

International travel to Sweden and the regional seminar, board and lodgings, programme fees and literature are covered by Sida. The participants’ organisations will be required to to cover costs for personal expenses, salaries for the participants during the scheduled exercises and work with change projects, domestic travel, visa fees, local airport taxes and departure fees.
