With funding from the Moore Foundation, the Alfred Katz School for Desert Studies (Sde Boqer Campus, Ben-Gurion University) is offering full scholarships to students from developing countries to undertake postgraduate studies in Desert Envrionmental Studies.
The aim of the program is to provide advanced training in desert environmental studies to a cadre of outstanding students from the developing world. Fellowship recipients will acquire the skills and knowledge needed to promote sustainable development and environmental conservation in their home countries.
The Environmental Studies Track at the Albert Katz International School of Desert Studies is located at the Sde Boqer Campus of Ben-Gurion University. It provides a unique academic perspective on the human and built environment in arid regions. Combining expertise in desert architecture, urban planning and the social sciences (sociology, anthropology, economics and policy studies), faculty and students examine the contemporary challenges of sustainable development, situating local case studies within regional and global contexts.
With the gracious support of the Moore Foundation, the School is able to offer the best candidates full scholarships for the duration of two years of studies, including: tuition, accommodation, a monthly stipend, and travel expenses to Israel and back.
