The fourth South African Planning Institute (SAPI) Planning Africa Conference will be held in Durban (South Africa) from 13 to 15 September 2010. The overall conference theme is ‘Beyond Crisis: Opportunities and Actions’.
Planning Africa 2010 builds on the great success of the previous Planning Africa event, held in Johannesburg in 2008.
The 2010 conference themes are as follows:

- Climate Change and Consequences for Planning
- Spatial Trends and Sustainable Urbanization
- Planning and Governance
- The Changing Discourse and Practice of Planning in the 21st Century
- Rural Development and Rural-Urban Interrelationships
- The Planning Profession and Education
